Rome – Alitalia widens its international and intercontinental network with 13 new destinations operated in codeshare with Air France/KLM: • Hong Kong, Singapore, Montreal (from August), Dakar, Abidjan, Lisbon and Nuremberg (via Paris); • Dubai and Berlin (via Paris or Amsterdam); • Stuttgart (via Paris or Lyon); • Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Cape Town (via Amsterdam from August). Alitalia and Air France/KLM have also increased the number of codeshare flights via Paris and via Lyon; all the following destinations can now be reached via both cities: • Brest, Clermont-Ferrand, Nantes, Pau (Pyrenees), Rennes, Strasburg, Toulouse, Montpellier Hamburg and Birmingham Alitalia serves directly 24 Italian destinations, 34 international and 12 intercontinental and has codeshare agreements in place with 27 airlines to over 200 worldwide destinations (of which more than 70 are operated in co-operation with Air France/KLM). Thanks to the new codeshare destinations, Alitalia is able to strengthen the commercial product offered to its passengers from Italy and to facilitate the increase of international tourist traffic to Italy. The codeshare agreement with Air France/KLM represents a progression of the strategic alliance between the airlines, offering Alitalia important opportunities of development, as well as contributing to the growth of Italian air transport infrastructure, with particular reference to international and intercontinental services. The active partnership between Alitalia and Air France/KLM, within the SkyTeam alliance scenario, generates operational synergies and benefits for the passengers: • Increase of frequencies between Italy-France and Italy-Netherlands; • Offer of combinable fares; tickets that best use the possible combinations in the Alitalia and Air France/KLM networks; • Increase of the number of codeshare destinations; • More opportunities to earn and use miles on the network of the three companies and of the other SkyTeam partners; • Development of onboard and ground services in Italy and abroad.
